Something that resembles a blog — Ryan Wallath

Well here we are again, blogging once more. The last time I blogged was on the ferry to Rome, and we are now just about to head to Paris so its time to look back at what we’ve done so far. Rome was very cool and full on, seeing major icons each day. We went to the four major churches, of which St. Peters was my favourite, because it was so ridiculously massive. The hostel we stayed at had an extremely average breakfast, so we relied on the dinners we had for a chance at a good meal. All the sightseeing, rushing around the city and the absurd amount of haggling I did, made for a memorable time in Rome.

Next up was Florence, which on first impression, was a really pleasant city. Although, being Italy, the people were pretty reckless in their driving. We trawled around the city seeing all the sights, and went to Pisa for a day. Pisa, the place that you go to and see the leaning tower, taking cliché pictures (which I did… and it was fun), and after the pictures have been taken, you leave the place.  In Florence, we had a pretty good breakfast, which was nice after the bread in Rome that tasted like it was kept in captivity for three weeks after they bought it. Two others and I payed a small fee and trekked up the “Duomo”, the massive church with a ridiculous Dome on the top of it. That was probably the highlight of Florence for me, climbing up there and taking pictures of the amazing view  (along with meeting a rather eccentric American, who asked everyone up there to take a picture of him) .

Along with going to Pisa, we went to Venice. The attraction of the city is pretty much the city itself, which is actually very cool and unique. There are no roads, only canals containing murky water, and the stores there sold some amazing glass figures of which i bought two of.  The water taxi we went on was bit of a nightmare though, being extremely packed, and whenever it stopped you got shoved back and forth. Although, the man next to the driver who unclipped the rope to let people on, looked like someone from the matrix, and that was pretty hilarious. We went to Saint Marco with the group, and were allowed to roam for the rest of the day, using up our time with such activities such as: window shopping, and more window shopping. So to wrap up , Venice was an amazing place, what with the lack of crazy Italian car drivers and, to replace them, taxi drivers from the Matrix.
